For Total Number of Articles, SCI Articles, and Research Funding In the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation “2007 University Research Activity Report” published on November 17, Yonsei University was ranked first among Korean private universities for research funds, total number of articles, number of SCI articles, and technology transfer. Yonsei’s research funds amounted to 213.7 billion won this year, a great increase from 157.7 last year. The total number of articles were 2681.6 (with co-authored articles counted by level of involvement) of which there were 1,297 SCI articles. There were 41 transfers of technology, worth 997 million won, which is another significant increase from last year (19 transfers worth 633 million won). Article publication is an important index for measuring the international research power, and research funds and technology transfer show Yonsei’s capacity to cater to the needs of government and businesses.
