Yonsei University invited 200 guests from political and business circles and the press for the congratulatory event held on May 27 for the Yonsei Alumni who have been elected to high official positions. The event was held for the Yonsei graduates who had been elected in the April 9 general election, as well as those who had previously been given major positions. The Yonsei graduates among the new members of the National Assembly number at 58 and include graduates Jeong Eui-Hwa, Kim Tae-Hwan, Song Young-Gil, Lee Beom-Kwan, Lee Seong-Heon, Sin Ji-Ho, and Yoo Jeong-Hyeon. Nine Yonsei graduates were appointed to high official positions in the Lee Myung-bak government, including Prime Minister Han Seung-soo. The guests at the event included University President Kim Han-Joong, Alumni President Lee Byeong-Moo, Prime Minister Han Seung-Soo, former National Assembly Chairman Lee Man-Seop, and former Minister of Science and Technology Kim Woo-Sik.
