A World-Class IT-Based Ubiquitous Library The Yonsei-Samsung Library, a central project of the Academy Information Center was completed and dedicated on May 10, the 123rd Anniversary day of Yonsei University. With three underground floors and six above ground, the new Academy Information Center, measuring at 33.428 m2 (359,815 ft2), has been constructed as the center befitting the digital information environment of the 21st century. The Yonsei-Samsung Library was designed to maximize user convenience and harmonization with the existing Main Library, both functionally and aesthetically. It boasts a high-end IT infrastructure, a wide variety of pleasant research and education environments, sophisticated interior design, and a nature-friendly environment with natural light and other eco-conscious features. The table below lists some of the new facilities designed to enhance user satisfactions for the Yonsei-Samsung Library, which officially opened on May 15. As a building befitting the motto of "YONSEI, the First & the Best", the Yonsei-Samsung Library is expected to greatly aid the realization of the Yonsei Vision, through which Yonsei will become an internationally acclaimed research university.
