Carried on the tradition of producing the most CPAs in the nation One hundred fifty-six candidates who passed the 2006 41st CPA (Certified Public Accountant) examination were from Yonsei University. This is the largest among domestic universities. Through this result, we were able to reconfirm Yonsei University's tradition of producing the most CPAs since the introduction of the CPA examination in Korea. This is a more valuable achievement because it was accomplished amidst intense efforts of other universities, which are providing large-scale support and investments. As the demand for finance specialists has increased and the business mind has been introduced to all areas of the national economy, the demand for CPAs has augmented. Furthermore, this year, the demand for accounting specialists has exponentially increased with the introduction of international accounting standards and the internal control system. Consequently, the 4 largest accounting firms alone are planning to recruit 800 new CPAs, which will result in fierce competition among the accounting firms to attract the newly selected CPAs. Meanwhile, in the 2006 High Diplomatic Service Examination, 5 students from Yonsei University Department of Political Science & International Studies passed. This is a great achievement, which accounts for 20% of the 25 who passed the examination.
