Graduate Coursework Can Be Completed

through MOOCs following Agreement with Connect Foundation

 

 

 

The Yonsei Graduate School has signed an MOU with the Connect Foundation to offer graduate courses through their Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform. Established in 2011, the Connect Foundation is an educational non-profit organization devoted to innovating and democratizing education by offering high-quality content and courses to the general public.  

 

 

To begin with, the Graduate School will offer basic subjects through the MOOCs, such as Research Ethics, Thesis Writing, and Safety Education, for which enrolled students will receive credit towards their degree. In the future, the lectures and course content will be made available to the public.

 

According to Graduate School Dean Moon Sung-bin: “We will continuously develop our own lectures and contents.” He added that “the accumulated data related to learning will be used as research material to improve the lecturer-learning design and build a more effective learner-centered environment.” The Connect Foundation plans to set up cooperative systems with several other higher education institutions in the country, which will also offer high-quality educational content to the public at large. The foundation will be updating and improving its MOOC platform on a continuous basis.
