2015 International Energy Conference

 

-Political Impact of Energy Cooperation Policy for Unified Korean Peninsula 

 

 

 

On December 2, the Yonsei Institute of East and West Studies hosted the 2015 International Energy Conference at the Plaza Hotel. The purpose of the conference was to consider the political ramifications of energy cooperation policies for a unified Korean peninsula. Building upon discussions from previous conferences, participants debated changes in Germany’s energy policy as well as bilateral and multilateral energy cooperation in a unified Korea. There were also discussions concerning the implications of energy cooperation among South Korea, North Korea, Russia, and China.    

 

 

Each year, the International Energy Conference brings together a number of scholars and policy experts to address geopolitical changes occurring in Northeast Asia and promote the enlargement of energy cooperation among countries in the region. All of the participants agreed that expanding energy cooperation has crucial political implications for the present and future of the Korean peninsula.
