Yonsei was awarded grand prize in the education category at the twelfth Web Awards Korea. The website was recognized
for its distinctive brand identity and responsive design. In October 2015, the university launched its responsive web system as part of the S-Campus project, which included redesigning the website architecture. Yonsei’s homepage now contains a variety of content, including links to research, admissions, academics, and campus life; there are also several distinct subsections, such as “Yonsei News,” “Research Achievements,” and “OCX,” or Open Campus Experience. Users can easily navigate the site, finding pertinent information on campus events, research discoveries by faculty members, and artistic and cultural activities on Yonsei’s campuses.

Web Awards Korea is hosted by the Korea Internet Professional Association (KIPFA), and each year it selects the most innovative and highest quality renovated websites. The prize-winners are chosen by a panel of 2,000 web-design experts, who determine the awards based on elements such as visual design, user interface (UI) design, technology, content, service, and marketing. In all, there were over 500 websites competing in thirteen different categories.

In a press release, the university said: “The aim in redesigning the website was to enhance public relations and spotlight research performance in order to increase Yonsei’s brand value. Furthermore, the new website effectively integrates essential information from across all the campuses and is well-equipped for adapting to a rapidly changing mobile environment.”
