Yonsei Publishes Supplementary Chinese-Korean Dictionary

—Designed to Assist Learners in Mastering Intricacies of Chinese Language

Yonsei University has published a supplementary Chinese-Korean dictionary to aid native Korean speakers in mastering the subtleties of the Chinese language. Work on the dictionary began in 2003, and it has included the participation of more than 200 scholars and experts from 126 universities in four different countries.

The user-friendly dictionary is designed to address language difficulties not explained in existing Chinese-Korean dictionaries. The experts who compiled it strove to provide clear and accurate definitions of words and phrases, while giving examples that reflect actual contemporary usage. The dictionary also includes in-depth explanations about Chinese characters, pronunciations, and intonations.

In the future, Yonsei plans to publish a similar Korean-Chinese dictionary for native Chinese speakers.
