Founded in 1992, the Graduate School of Journalism and Mass Communication offers Master¡¯s degrees in three majors: (1) Journalism, (2) Broadcasting and Visual Communication, and (3) Advertising and Public Relations. In addition to the degree program, the school also offers a non-degree Advanced Management Program for CEOs and leaders in the communication industries.
The mission of the school is to create ideas that deepen and advance the understanding of the communication field and based upon these ideas, develop innovative, principled and insightful leaders. Faculty members use a variety of teaching approaches, including lectures, discussions and case studies, rather than restricting courses to a particular method of instruction. The school strives to be a world leader in journalism and mass communication education.
1) A minimum of two and a half years (five semesters) of residence.
2) A minimum of 30 credits with a B average or above.
3) Completion of a foreign language requirement.
4) Completion of a comprehensive examination.
5) Completion of a thesis.
Requirements for the Non-Degree Certificate
1) A minimum of one year (two semesters) of residence.
2) Completion of a minimum of 12 credits. |
