The GSHE was established to produce qualified specialists and to further research in the integrated field of public health and the environment. The program is designed for highly motivated professionals with related work experience in five fields: (1) Biomedical Laboratory Science, (2) Environmental Engineering, (3) Ergonomic Therapy, (4) Medical Engineering, (5) and Health Administration. Students are trained to interact with people of various socio-economic levels, to protect the environment, to develop health policy legislation, to identify and evaluate the economic impact of changing demographics and to deal with difficult issues in the public health arena.
Today's society faces some of the most serious health problems including new and devastating infectious diseases, problems related to an aging population, spiraling healthcare costs, and environmental pollution resulting from rapid industrialization and urbanization. The mission of the school is to meet these challenges by promoting achievement in academics and by helping students develop practical skills for dealing with the environment, which will allow them to combine their work experience with state-of-the-art techniques and advanced knowledge.
