The Department of Radiological Science at Yonsei University was established in 2002 as the first and the most competitive 4-year radiological science program in Korea. Our educational goal is to train the best radiologists and professional scientists leading the medical and radiation-related high technologies. Radiological science is based upon the profitable uses of a variety of radiations for human health and sciences, and has played a key role, especially, in the fields of medical diagnosis and therapy, and industrial applications. The undergraduate program is designed to prepare students for a career in medical facilities, the national laboratories, or in radiation-related industry. The program, leading to a BS degree in Radiological science, emphasizes study in basic and medical sciences and engineering. The department also offers courses at the upper division level, which include radiation physics, modern medical imaging, radiation therapy, radiation biology, nuclear medicine, CT and MR imaging, and so on. After completion of the program, the successful candidate will receive a bachelor of radiological science degree and will be eligible to sit for the national licensure examination for radiologist in Korea. On March, 2006, established newly general graduate school master's course. Also on March, 2008, opened general graduate school Master/ Doctor integration process and doctor's course. Many students devote a fifth year to earning a master's degree. Students interested in careers in scientific research or in college teaching go on to complete the doctorate.
