The Public Administration Program is designed to teach students skills in understanding public institutions, policy-making, management, and professional ethics. The Public Administration Program uses a unique public affairs environment in the educational development of students. Emphasis is placed on the selective employment of adjuncts chosen from professionals with specific skills or top managers who run important government programs. Prominent practitioners are invited into our classrooms to share ideas, opinions and experiences with students. Student participation is encouraged to bring about practical applications of studies to the job market and in valued learning experiences. The curriculum is focused to ensure that all students: (1) understand the political, economic and social context of public administration; (2) achieve competency in organizational design, analysis, management, and administrative techniques; (3) gain experience in applying qualitative and quantitative methods to public policy issues. Classes are offered on a trimester system year round. The Public Administration Program intends to prepare students for work at all levels of public service, international agencies, and non-profit organizations such as charitable institutions.
