Yonsei is rightfully proud of its more than 264,000 alumni who have played prominent roles in all areas of society all around the world. It is by no means easy to pin-point particular fields or professions where Yonsei graduates have proven their excellence, although medicine, businesses, academia, government administration, diplomacy and broadcasting can be cited as the most likely candidates. The Alumni Association is a network of numerous smaller units: within Korea, there are some 150 branches and outside Korea, there are some 48 branches scattered all over the globe. However, the Alumni Association, which has its own separate building that lies next to the Medical Center, has been most systematic in bringing together these alumni societies and individual graduates. It distributes some 110,000 newsletters every month to the extended Yonsei family, keeping them updated on the latest events in their old school. The university, on its part, holds an annual Yonsei Alumni Day in May, and various homecoming events are organized at the university or college levels to strengthen that privileged link with their alma mater all Yonsei graduates enjoy. The graduates have been likewise generous in sharing their success with their old university by donating funds and giving lectures on their specialized fields. The Yonsei alumni website (http://www.yonsein.net) also offers much current and useful information on both Yonsei University and its alumni's activities and events. The website is also a guide to the many resources and services available through the Alumni Council office.
