Programs
Architecture Program : B.Arch (5-year)
Accredited by KAAB(Korea Architectural Accrediting Board)
Architectural Engineering Program : B.S. in Architectural Engineering (4-year)
Accredited by ABEEK(Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea)
Buildings are designed, engineered, and constructed to satisfy their aesthetic and functional goals within the given budget and time frame. Theories and knowledge required in the process of designing, engineering, and constructing buildings are taught in the the Department of Architecture and Architectural Engineering. There are two programs for the undergraduate education: 1) the Architecture(5-year) program and the Architectural engineering(4-year) program.
The Architecture and Architectural Engineering programs share the basic requirement courses, but the major difference is that the Architectural program includes more design studio courses, designed to satisfy the KAAB (Korea Architectural Accrediting Board) requirements while the Architectural Engineering program includes more engineering courses, designed to satisfy ABEEK (Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea) requirements. There are five research units for the graduate education: 1) architectural design; 2) architectural planning, history and theory; 3) structures; 4) building environmental technology; and 5) building construction and management.
